Agency Partnerships & Response FAQ

Who has the authority to contact TIP?

TIP of Merrimack Valley is requested exclusively by police, fire, EMS, and hospital personnel. While individual citizens cannot call for an immediate response directly, we work in close partnership with first responders to ensure emotional first aid is available whenever tragedy occurs.

How are volunteer requests routed and dispatched?

When an emergency official identifies a need for on-scene support, they contact our dedicated dispatch system. Our on-call coordinators immediately mobilize a trained crisis volunteer who aims to arrive on-site within 20 minutes to provide calm, compassionate care.

Is TIP a replacement for emergency services?

No. For all immediate life-safety emergencies, call 911. TIP volunteers provide emotional and practical support after or during a crisis once invited by the responsible agencies. This allows first responders to focus on their primary duties while families receive the focused attention they need.

How can our agency partner with TIP?

We pride ourselves on trauma-informed agency collaboration. Community partners and first responder agencies in the Merrimack Valley can contact our office to discuss training, MOU agreements, and integrating TIP volunteers into your standard dispatch protocols.
